An Illinois federal judge on Thursday probed an attorney for President Donald Trump on the bounds of his orders deploying National Guard troops to Chicago, saying there was “a very large disconnect” between court filings stating they’re there to protect federal agents and property and the president’s public remarks that the troops will tackle crime in the city.
