The Manager of Strategy and Planning is tasked with spearheading the development and execution of corporate strategic initiatives, serving as a key advisor to senior leadership on strategic matters. This role demands a high level of analytical acumen, strategic foresight, and the ability to navigate complex business landscapes. The individual will be responsible for conducting thorough market research, trend analysis, and competitive assessments to inform strategic decisions. By collaborating closely with various departments, the Manager ensures that strategic plans are seamlessly integrated across the organization, driving growth, innovation, and operational excellence. With a focus on long-term value creation, the Manager of Strategy and Planning plays a critical role in shaping the company’s future, making strategic recommendations that will guide the organization towards achieving its vision and goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Planning: Lead the strategic planning process, including the development of the company’s mid/long-term strategy, setting objectives, and identifying ways to achieve these goals.
Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats that could impact the business. Use this information to recommend adjustments to the company’s strategic direction.
Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, including forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for strategic initiatives and monitor progress against these metrics. Provide regular reports to senior management on the status of strategic projects.
Stakeholder Management: Communicate strategic plans and progress to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including presentations to executive leadership and the board of directors.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with different departments (e.g., Business Units, Finance, Sales and SCM) to ensure strategic plans are aligned with departmental goals and implemented effectively across the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field. MBA or similar advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in strategic planning, management consulting, or a similar role, with a proven track record of successful strategic project management. Experience in large scale CPG companies is a plus.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience with financial modeling and data analysis
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas effectively to a variety of audiences.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams and projects.
Ability to think creatively and strategically, with a strong problem-solving orientation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), with familiarity with business intelligence and planning software being an advantage.
